Shepards Park Re-Build

Lake George, New York

CLIENT Village of Lake George

Shepard Park is a historic passive urban space on the shores of Lake George in the Village of Lake George. In 2024 a fire destroyed the parks outdoor bandshell which was host to many performances sponsored by the Lake George Arts Festival.

Studio A participated as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to develop plans to rebuild the bandshell and restore facilities in the historic park. A design for a new open-air bandshell was developed along with restoration details for the historic stone amphitheater for seating. Other improvements included pedestrian walk upgrades, lights, new children’s playscape, site furnishings, signage and landscaping.

Studio A provided site planning, landscape architectural design, civil and structural engineering services for the new bandshell structure. The five million dollar plan was financed by the Villages Downtown Redevelopment Initiative funding program that was provided by the New York State Department of State.

Project is under construction. Anticipated project completion is early Summer 2026.
