ORDA Bellayre Mountain Ski Bridge

Studio A provided the structural and civil engineering services for a new ski bridge that spans the Overlook Lodge parking lot. The bridge alignment was designed to connect skiers from the upslope trail network to the new quad chair lift. Mechanically Stabilized Earth walls using segmental precast concrete blocks were selected for the bridge abutments and retaining walls. The bridge superstructure is comprised of re-purposed Inverset™ panels that were previously removed from the Tappan Zee bridge. The bridge panels were modified to be site specific for the ski bridge application.
