Saratoga County Airport FBO Terminal

Ballston Spa, New York

CLIENT Saratoga County

The Saratoga County Airport is a county-owned, public-use airport located in Ballston Spa, NY. The newly constructed General Aviation terminal is a $29 million investment designed to blend modern functionality with the unique architectural heritage of the region. This state-of-the-art facility emphasizes user comfort,
community amenities, and operational efficiency, while its design choices pay homage to the local character and natural landscape. The terminal opens onto a landscape courtyard and rolling berms of local plantings, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience for passengers and community visitors.

The project incorporates local vegetative habitats in its plantings palette, vehicular and pedestrian access and circulation, passive outdoor areas, water feature, sculptural feature, and site lighting representative of the local vernacular.

The access driveway is designed to replicate the “Avenues of the Pines” in Saratoga State Park. A 3/4 life-size equestrian mount is located in the drop-off circle surrounded by “Marylou Whitney” roses. The entire theme is designed to acclimate visitors to Saratoga County’s vast heritage.

Construction was completed in 2025.
