Studio A was retained by the Town of Lake George to design a reinterment memorial for the remains of soldiers from the Revolutionary War. A burial ground was accidentally uncovered during the construction of a housing project in the Village. A committee was formed consisting of town representatives, local residents, the NYS Archeologists office and NYS Department of Environmental Conservation to reinter the remains in a memorial plaza in Battlefield Park.
Studio A provided site design, civil engineering and landscape architecture services for the project. The project includes six columbaria for the reinterment of the remains and a memorial plaza and interpretive center in the park.
Note that this project is designed to complement the new Lake George Park Commission Office Building/Battlefield Park Visitors Center for which Studio A also provided design, civil engineering and landscape architecture services.
