Pitney Meadows Community Farm is located on the west side of the City of Saratoga Springs and represents a highly valued agricultural, open space, recreational, and visual resource for the city, its residents, and the region.
The goal of the Farm is to establish an agricultural resource center that consists of a mix of integrated and complementary agricultural land uses that not only preserves the prominence of the Farm’s historic activities but also fosters the expansion of agricultural land uses through the provision of agri-education and a “hands-on” learning experience for the community.
As an open space resource, the Farm is open to the public for a variety of passive recreational uses. Studio A was commissioned to develop a Recreation Trails Master Plan for the Farm that promotes community use of the site for walking, jogging, fishing access to Geyser Brook, cross-country skiing, biking, and nature education.
Studio A also developed a wayfinding system for the Farm including coordinated signage and graphic logos and informational/directional kiosks.
