Studio A collaborated with the Town of Waterford, Saratoga County on a streetscape analysis, design, and construction project. The Mohawk Gateway Streetscape Improvement Project is intended to visually enhance the gateway, create new pedestrian opportunities, and build on the nearby assets of the Waterford Museum, and the many water resources of the region, including Cohoes Falls, Hudson River, Mohawk River, and the Erie Canalway that merge at this location in Waterford. The project was designed to increase private investment in the area, promote a pedestrian-friendly streetscape, promote pride in the area, and enhance the quality of life for residents in this mixed-use district. This New York State Department of State grant-funded project included significant public input to identify desired improvements.
Completed in the Fall of 2019, this streetscape project implements one of the major strategies included in the Town of Waterford’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan.
